Two brothers, Sagar and Swapan, were sentenced to death in Bangladesh, the latter in absentia, for shooting dead a man inside mosque. Their three other brothers and ten accomplices were sentenced to life imprisonment. According to the prosecution, on January 10, 1999 a group of terrorists led by Sawpan and Sagar exploded crackers in front of a mosque in Sabibad village. They then entered the building and shot Raja Mia, who was known for his strong opposition to terrorism and extortion in the area.
